Sacred Places Field Trip
Friday, September 24, 2010 10:00am - 3:30pm
This is an exclusive bonus event for students who register for the upcoming Senzar Symbols training in September, or who recently participated in the May/June Symbols training.
This field adventure includes:
- A visit to V– Bar -V Ranch in Lake Montezuma to see the incredible petroglyphs that form a solar calendar on a secluded cliff face. The Southern Sinagua created the rock art petroglyphs (many of which are Senzar symbols) at V-Bar-V sometime during their use of the site between A.D. 900 and 1400. The rays of the sun interact with glyphs and “cup marks” to designate specific and very important times in the solar cycle, including the Summer and Winter Solstice periods and the Spring and Autumnal Equinox. To learn more about V-Bar-V and the Sun Watchers activity at this site, click here .
- Learn how ancient peoples may have been using cup marks and Senzar symbols, like those at V-Bar-V and other stone monuments around the world, to enhance power-of-thought activities.
- Enjoy an easy hike along Bell Trail and lunch on the red rocks at Wet Beaver Creek.
- Visit nearby Sacred
Mountain for a Star Tune walking meditation, and more.
If you qualify to participate, email Michele
to sign-up for the field trip.
